One can judge a man by the company he keeps.
So Greek playwright Euripides said. If indeed that is true, then what can we say about the company embattled city of South Miami police chief Orlando Martinez de Castro keeps? If indeed the person he copied in the email we discussed earlier this week was Camillo Padreda, then what does this say about the chief? Before we get all philosophical, let's first look into Mr. Padreda's past, one of our readers was kind enough to forward us this transcript of a deposition that Mr Padreda gave back when he when he was a government witness against then Hialeah mayor Raul Martinez. It's lengthy but worth the read and will make you wonder why the hell the chief is affiliated with this guy let alone let him hang around city hall. Take a look and we'll discuss the highlights tomorrow...
Hi Mike, I am sorry but you really can not judge the "Chief of Police" by the type of people he hangs with.
ReplyDeleteYou see its all about getting recognition in politics, and getting to know the important people, who can do favors for this one and that one, who can contribute to campains.
This is how it works, Mike or dont you know this by now.
So you see, Mike, thats why we all need freinds with big connections, because we need help with campains for good people like Mayor Russell, Commissioner Newman, and Mayor Robaina, people who always take care their freinds, no matter what. This is how it always works here in Miami, right Mike?
ReplyDeleteAccording to Padreda's sworn testimony, Padreda joined up with the Batista dictatorship after Batista staged the coup d'état in March 1952. He rose to the rank of assistant to he chief of staff of Batista's armed forces, and was a member of the SIM (Military Intellegence Service) and was a member of the dreaded BRAC (Bureau to Repress Communist Activities). In his testimony Padreda describes his career with Batista as a "distinguished career". Like any good Batistiano, he does not move to Miami in 1959 but moves to West Palm Beach. In understanding factionalized Cuban Miami politics you just need to know which faction. I have heard that the Chief has always bragged that his father was a police officer in Cuba and we can suppose that he was not an officer for Fidel, and we can suppose it was in Batista's time that his dad was a police officer. Ask any Cuban you see where they would be if it weren't for the dictator Fugencio Batista Zaldivar "el Indio" where would they be? They will probably tell you not here in Miami
ReplyDeletewhat I find funny is the move hm made. hm stated that a resident of the city of south miami discriminated against the cuban bunch of criminals by calling them "the cuban mofia", yet what this government witness states is that this is normal and a culural nessecity to be in the connection?
ReplyDeletewho is mary russell, I keep seeing the this name pop up in diffrent places???

DeleteGood to know which side Mary Scott de Russell is on. Sad, but crystal clear.
ReplyDeleteWhat was Mirabile's problem with the word "mafia"? In word reference.com's English-Spanish dictionary, the second definition of mafia is "grupo cerrado dominante" - ruling clique, which pretty much describes the Mirabile, Martinez, Newman & Padreda clique, in my opinion! Investigarlo por Google si no me crees. We could hace added Robaina and Oliveros to that clique, then it would not have mattered what anybody thought.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous Feb 18, at 11:54pm, you forgot one member of the clique: JOSH LIEBMAN (Josh, So what’s in your wallet? A PROMISSORY commercial or DEVELOPERS contract OR maybe a KICK BACK by way of Madison Square?) Careful South Miami’s own Forest Gump, you can not out run these guys, and you are out of your league and trust you me, you will get burned in the end.
ReplyDeleteSo we have, Mirabile, Martinez, Newman, Pedreda, Robaina, Oliveros (by the way Oliveros, during your attempt to come back into the city during our last election, you stated that since you have been to prison for the money laundering crime you committed, that you had found GOD, well I don’t think it was GOD that you were talking with or negotiating with, I think it was Pedreda, Mirabel or Newman :) or even the Devil himself. What a bunch!
But you guy's are forgetting the Mafia, the Clique that is ruining, I mean Running this CrapHole City now...The MSM!!! No, not the Mainstream Media...The Marijuana Smoking Mafia!!! Yes!! Phil "Ganja"Stoddard, Robert"Stank"Welch, and "Hookah" Harris.
ReplyDeleteThey might look innocent, but look at ALL the Damage they have done to the TAXPAYERS!!!
