Update on the Orlando Martinez de Castro hearing this morning!

Short and sweet, Judge Rodriguez denied Orlando Martinez de Castro's attorney's motions and it looks like Mr de Castro won't be coming back to South Miami any time soon.

More later...

  1. Maybe Sweetwater will take him to run their DUI checkpoints? Maybe Homestead will take him to operate their facial recognition cameras? Maybe he can forcefully take away all the video cameras of OpaLaka citizens recording police abuse. Maybe FernandezRundle will take him to serve warrants. Marbe Centorino needs a bailiff? His being named Chief of the Year by the PBA ought to count for something? Now South Miami can legally buy tags from Airways ?

  2. And I bet you his son did not call the judge "Bitch Ass Nigger". Robert Stienbeck, I have always loved reading your columns over the years, but you were sitting next to Mike Hatami when Chris Martinez said that to him and if you do not verify that you have lost all credibility, you have been corrupted by the work you do for the Ethics clique.

  4. Usual reporting for the Strawbuyer, not reporting the entire facts of the hearing last week. Just take a second glance of the Strawbuyer's one sentence reporting. Your credibility continues to deteriorate Mr.Strawbuyer because from what most of us heard, you haven't reported the real decision of the judge.

    1. If that commenter knows, he does not want to say. But you want to know, so here's the halftime score in OMC v City of South Miami: OMC 0, CSM 3.
The judge denied OMC's lawyers' motion for injunctive relief (for OMC to be put back in as chief) and their motion to compel mediation/arbitration. Previously the judge denied OMC's motion for an emergency injunction. So now the judge will either rule on City atty Tom Pepe's request for a declaratory judgement action that OMC has no contract to enforce (sudden death) or let OMC's dream team of Totten & Franqui + Steckel take it to trial. And if the judge's ruling does not follow the law, "Bulldog Pepe" will appeal it in overtime. More reporting opportunities await The humble StrawBuyer.

  5. O yes, it is! That was the decision of the judge, and therefore there is "no 3d coming of OMC to the city of South Miami". Go lick your wounds.
